Severstal produces test consignment of strips for IPP

Severstal Cherovetsk, subsidiary of the Russian steel producer Severstal, has announced that it has produced a test consignment of strips from 315 mm thick slabs for Izhorsky Pipe Plant (IPP).

Commenting on the new production, Severastal Cherpovest's director Mr. Andrey Lutzenko stated, "The test rolling of strip from 315 mm thick slabs was started in the second half of July. As a result, the surface quality and the results of the ultrasonic inspections of the strip were significantly higher than those of strips which were previously produced from 250 mm thick slab".
