Severstal increased its production in 2003

In line with the statement released from Severstal, Russian steel mill, located in Cherepovets, Vologda region, the company has increased its finished steel production by 3.2% to 8.81 million tons in 2003, against 2002. Severstal production target was 8.7 million tons for 2003. In year 2003, the company's production of steel rolled products and pig iron grew by 2.7% to 9.89 million tons and 1.2% to 7.64 million tons, respectively. A company official also stated that, only in December, Severstal produced 782'000 tons of steel despite repair works.
