Severstal considers Lusosider and Bamesa

Market sources report SteelOrbis that the Russian producer Severstal is interested in a take over of Lusosider, one of the plants listed for divesting process by Arcelor scheduled to be completed throughout Q4. Lusosider is a steel service center located in Portugal some shares of which are held by Arcelor via its merger Usinor. Sources from the market also confirm SteelOrbis Severstal's interest in a purchase of Barcelonesa de Metals SA (Bamesa), another steel service center based in Spain. Usinor is currently holding a 30% of shares of Bamesa. Bamesa is in posession of about seven service centers in Spain and Portugal. It also has one located in Orhangazi, Turkey.
