Severstal Cherepovets, the main steel producing facility of Severstal Russian Steel, has announced a total sales volume for April of more than 30,000 mt, up eight percent month on month.

Commenting on the figures, Cherepovets director Vladimir Aganesov stated that in April their volume of warehouse sales exceeded the monthly figure of 15,000 mt for the first time ever. In addition, the plant's steel processing capacity rose to 6,550 mt, up eight percent compared with the previous month.

The increase of Cherepovets' warehouse sales is due to the increase in the spring-summer market demand for steel products. The increase in sales has also been aided by Cherepovets' program for the optimization of its warehouse processes and transport logistics, which allows the plant to raise its delivery quantities by rail transport both during the weekend and at nights.
