Sandvik to supply materials handling equipment to S. America and Australia

Sweden-based Sandvik Mining has announced that it has secured major materials handling equipment orders from South America and Australia, worth SEK 950 million in total. The orders will be fulfilled between 2013 and 2015.

According to Sandvik's statement, the order for South America includes design and supply of conveying systems with a total length of 8.9 km comprising of two iron ore transfer conveyors with up to 28,500 mt per hour capacity and two waste conveyor lines each with 9,500 mt per hour capacity, for use at a surface mine.

The order for Australia includes design, supply and delivery of materials handling equipment for iron ore stacking.
