SAIL iron ore mines show growth in production

Recent market news reveals that, iron ore mines of Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) produced 9.26 million tons of iron ore in the first three quarters of the current financial year. The tonnage, including lump and fine iron ores indicates a 7.9% increase when compared with the tonnage recorded in the corresponding period of previous year. Moreover, this tonnage indicates the highest tonnage recorded in any nine-month period. The production at Kiriburu and Bolani mines, which is recorded as 2.64 million tons and 2.38 million tons respectively, is also stated to be the highest production at these mines. Moreover, Meghahatuburu and Kalta mines produced 2.55 million tons and 830'000 tons respectively, in the aforementioned period. The tonnages indicate 12.7 % and 18.3% increases when compared with the same period of previous year.
