SAIL agrees on almost three-fold price increase for imported coking coal

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has reportedly agreed on an almost three-fold increase in the prices for imported coking coal from Australia as of July 1, 2008.

SAIL plans to import about 12 million mt of coking coal this year to meet its requirements of about 16 million mt.
