South Korean steel producer Hamyang Steel Co. (HAMSCO) has announced that it has decided to delay the hot-run test of its new 50-mt electric arc furnace (EAF) until the end of December this year.

"We are at the finalization stage of the introduction of our new arc furnace, but we plan to conduct the hot-run test of the furnace at the end of December, one month later than our original schedule," said an official at the company.

Accordingly, the startup of the furnace will be delayed by two months from the initially targeted startup date of late October.
