Chicago, Illinois-based steel processor and metals distributor Ryerson Inc. announced Monday the opening of its new Salt Lake City, Utah service center. The new facility is Ryerson's second in Utah in the last couple years--in April 2009, Ryerson opened a plate processing plant in Clearfield, Utah.

The new Salt Lake City facility will primarily offer long products and will serve as the hub for the products for Ryerson's branches in the Western United States. The facility will also have a variety of other steel, aluminum and stainless steel shapes as well and has the capability for bar-cutting and sheet sheering. Roger Cundick, General Manager for both Salt Lake City locations said that the service center will offer same-day delivery and same day will-call.
