Russia's ferrous metal import volume in the January-April period this year accounted for 5.5 percent of its total export volume, according to the Russian Federal Customs Service.
During the given period, the value of ferrous metal imports decreased by 34.8 percent, while the import volume decreased by 27 percent, year on year. The steel tube import volume decreased by 42.8 percent, while the volume of flat product imports declined by 35.6 percent, year on year, as reported by the Federal Customs Service.
Russia's import of ferrous metals from CIS countries accounted for 11.3 percent of the total ferrous metal import volume, down by 56.1 percent in terms of value and decreasing by 47.6 percent in terms of volume, year on year. Russia's flat product imports from the CIS decreased by 44.2 percent, while its steel tube imports from the region decreased by 55.1 percent, year on year.
