Russia’s coal exports rise by 12.8 percent in January-May

According to the data issued by Russia's Ministry of Energy, in the January-May period of the current year Russia’s coal exports increased by 12.8 percent year on year to 73.52 million mt. In May alone, Russian coal exports amounted to 15.34 million mt, up 7.33 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, in the first five months Russia’s coal output rose by 5.48 percent year on year to 165.62 million mt, while in May alone the country’s coal production went up by 6.25 percent year on year to 32.76 million mt.
