Russia’s Ashinskiy sees 13 percent increase in Jan-Oct steel output

According to its data issued for the first ten months of the current year, Russian steel producer Ashinskiy Metallurgical Works (Ashinskiy) registered a 13.1 percent increase year on year in its steel output to 585,359 mt, including 562,188 mt of slabs - up 15.3 percent year on year.

In January-October, Ashinskiy produced 486,772 mt of rolled steel products - up 10.4 percent compared to the same period last year.

In addition, during the period in question Ashinskiy's deliveries of steel plates increased by nine percent year on year to 449,139 mt. Of this figure, 339,280 mt of plates were delivered to the Russian domestic market - up 66.6 percent year on year, about 64,842 mt were exported to non-CIS countries - down 60 percent, and 14,311 mt were delivered to CIS countries - down 16.3 percent, all compared to January-October 2009.
