Russian scrap exports down 39 percent

According to the data of the Federal Customs Service of Russian Federation, the volume of exported scrap decreased 39 percent year on year to 3.16 million tons in January-May of 2006. During the first five months of 2006, the most considerable decrease was noticed in the scrap exports to East Asia, down 65.1 percent from the same period of last year, while the exports of Russian scrap to Turkey decreased only 8.2 percent.
