Russia reports production results for January-July 2006
According to the data released by the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia, the country's production of coke rose 1.4 percent, that of finished steel products rose 7.9 percent and that of steel pipes rose 17.3 percent year on year to 18.8 million metric tons, to 33.7 million metric tons and to 4.3 million metric tons respectively in January-July of 2006. During the same period, Russia increased the output of coal mining by 5.7 percent and that of iron ore mining rose 6.5 percent to 175 million metric tons and 58.6 million metric tons respectively.
