Russia posts reduced output results for H1

According to the data released by the Russian Federation's Federal State Statistics Service, in the first half of 2009 the country registered a 15 percent decrease in coal mining output and a 20.8 percent reduction in iron ore mining output year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 137 million and 42.4 million.
 
In addition, during the same period Russia produced 12.2 million metric tons of coke - down 30.9 percent, 23.1 million metric tons of finished steel products - down 27 percent, and 2.9 million metric tons of steel pipes - down 30.3 percent, all compared to the first half of 2008.
