Russia issues Jan-Nov 2006 import-export data

According to the data released by the Russian Federation's Federal Customs Service, for the January-November 2006 period, Russia exported 26.14 million metric tons of ferrous metals (excluding pig iron, ferroalloys and scrap) – down 4.3 percent, 5.4 million metric tons of pig iron – up 15 percent, 658,300 metric tons of ferroalloys – down 12 percent, 13.3 million metric tons of semi-finished steel products – up four percent, 8.2 million metric tons of flat rolled products – down 15 percent, 19.8 million metric tons of iron ore and concentrate – up 14 percent and 1.5 million metric tons of coke and semi-coke – down 45 percent, all compared to the corresponding period of 2005. During the period in question, Russia increased its ferrous metals (excluding pig iron, ferroalloys and scrap) imports by 20 percent and its steel pipe imports by 33 percent year on year to 4.1 million metric tons and 1.2 million metric tons respectively.
