Russia issues 2006 production results

According to the data released by the Russian Federation's Federal State Statistics Service, in 2006 the country registered a 3.6 percent rise in coal mining output and a 7.3 percent rise in iron ore mining output year on year. The respective figures in metric tons were 309 million and 102 million. In addition, during the same period, Russia produced 32.7 million metric tons of coke - up three percent, 58.2 million metric tons of finished steel products - up 6.5 percent and 7.9 million metric tons of steel pipes - up 17.7 percent, compared to the same period of last year.
