Russia cancels import duty on scrap starting from January 14

The Russian government has temporarily canceled the five percent import duty on ferrous scrap for the nine-month period starting from January 14, 2009.
 
The products which are affected by the governmental decision No. 813 of November 7, 2008, are under the following HS Codes: 7204 10 000 0, 7204 21 100 0, 7204 21 900 0, 7204 29 000 0, 7204 30 000 0, 7204 41 100 0, 7204 41 910 0, 7204 41 990 0, 7204 49 100 0, 7204 49 300 0, 7204 49 900 0, 7204 50 000 0, 7208 51 910 0, 7210 49 000 1 and 7225 40 300 9.
 
Meanwhile, the government has decided that scrap under HS Code 7210 49 000 1 will continue to be imported with a five percent duty.
