Rostec supplies equipment worth over $37 million to Indian steel plants

Russia's State Corporation for Assistance to Development, Production and Export of Advanced Technology Industrial Product (Rostec) has announced that its subsidiary Tyazhpromexport completed implementation of two projects for the Indian steel industry in 2017. Within the contracts, the Indian partners were supplied with new sinter production equipment and upgrade of existing equipment was performed for a total cost of over $37 million.

Accordingly, Tyazhpromexport supplied a new sintering machine for Indian state-run steelmaking and mining company Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), also known as Vizag Steel, with an annual production capacity of 6.3 million metric tons. The value of the project totals $29 million.

In addition, Tyazhpromexport modernized the sintering machine No. 1 at Indian state-owned steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL) Bokaro plant, at a cost of $8.5 million. The aim of the modernization is to improve the performance of the equipment.
