Romania’s Mechel Targoviste posts reduced net loss in H1 2010

Mechel Targoviste, a Romania-based subsidiary of the Russian mining and steel group Mechel, has announced that in the first half of the current year it managed to reduce its net loss by about 34 percent year on year.

Thus, in the given period Mechel Targoviste registered a net loss of about RON 48 million ($14.5 million), which is much lower than the net loss of about RON 73 million ($22.1 million) in the corresponding period of last year.

Meanwhile, Mechel Targoviste's net turnover in the first half of the year increased by 57 percent year on year from RON 237.6 million (approx. $72 million) to about RON 374 million ($113 million).
