ArcelorMittal Hunedoara, Romania-based subsidiary of the world's largest integrated metals and mining company ArcelorMittal, has restarted its production operations after a four-month break.
According to ArcelorMittal Hunedoara's general director Remus Patan, the plant has enough orders to cover the entire month of January and is continuing to receive more orders.
ArcelorMittal Hunedoara was originally scheduled to resume its production on January 19, but was delayed as some of its equipment had frozen due to temperatures of 15 degrees below zero in the last couple of weeks.
The plant halted production in October 2008 because of the economic crisis. Its 1,200 employees were sent on obligatory leave in November, returning to work in mid-January.
