Finland-based steelmaker Rautaruukki Corporation has announced today that it will acquire Norwegian steel bridge supplier Scanbridge AS in an effort to strengthen its position as a supplier of steel structures for bridges in the Nordic countries. The completion of the Euro 6.4 million-worth transaction, which is expected during spring 2007, is subject to the approval of the competition authorities. The acquisition of Scanbridge, which specializes in the supply of steel bridge structures, will complement Ruukki's expertise, particularly in the manufacture and installation of bridge structures.
