Finnish steelmaker Rautaruukki has announced the opening of a new representative office in Kazakhstan.

By expanding its operations to Kazakhstan, Rautaruukki says it will be able to improve the quality of customer service and to cut down the time of deliveries.

Commenting on the expansion, Rautaruukki Construction's president Saku Sipola stated, "The opening of the new representative office is a crucial step closer of our corporate strategy in expanding our presence in CIS countries and in strengthening our position in the building market of Central Asia".

Kazakhstan's construction market is showing strong growth and is estimated to be worth around €8 billion a year, or about the same as the combined construction market of the Baltic states.

Currently, Rautaruukki has operations in 25 countries.
