Raspadskaya Coal Company (Raspadskaya), the second largest coking coal producer in Russia and a subsidiary of domestic steelmaker Evraz Group, plans in September this year to increase its deliveries of coal concentrate to Russian customers by ten percent compared to August to 275,000 mt, the Russian information agency RosBusinessConsulting reports, citing Raspadskaya's deputy general director for strategic planning, Alexander Andreev.
As SteelOrbis previously reported, on May 19 Raspadskaya announced a situation of force majeure to its counterparties following the accident at its Raspadskaya mine on the night of May 8-9. Later, coal concentrate sales were resumed for some Russian customers in the amount of 250,000 mt per month, which is about one third of the total coal concentrate sales volume before the accident.
