The Russian pipe producer Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant Group (ChTPZ) is planning to commission its subsidiary Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works (PNTZ) in the first quarter of 2009.

The commissioning of the new mill, which will have an annual production capacity of 950,000 mt of billets for seamless pipes, will allow ChTPZ to satisfy its needs in this semi-finished material by 100 percent.

The main supplier of equipment for PNTZ was German equipment supplier SMS-Demag.

ChTPZ invested more than $500 million in the implementation of the project for the construction of PNTZ.
