Plate producers plan to hike prices for July

According to recent news in the market, many steel producers plan to hike prices of cut-to-length steel plates by $50 per ton to be effect for July shipments due to strong demand and decrease in scrap prices. It is stated that, International Steel Group (ISG), Nucor Corporation, Corus Tuscaloosa and CitiSteel are among the producers hiking prices. According to the cited price increase, ISG price will be $580 per ton and the surcharge will be $100 per ton, while price of CitiSteel and Corus Tuscaloosa are reported as $620 per ton and no surcharge will be implemented.
