Philippines to increase nickel ore exports to China

The Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the Philippines has stated that the Philippines is to increase its nickel ore exports to China. Meanwhile, the bureau stated that, based on its most recent research, red earth in the Philippines with low nickel content and high iron content may be used in the production of iron.
 
In 2010, the Philippines ranked third in the world in terms of exports of nickel ore to China, following Russia and Indonesia. The bureau expects that in the current year domestic nickel ore production will reach 23,000 mt, up 19 percent year on year.
