Peruvian iron ore export prices remained stable in June, on a month-on-month analysis, according to data released by the nation’s central bank (BCRP). Peruvian iron ore export prices in June reached $32.4/mt, relatively stable from $32.2/mt in May this year, but up 23.2 percent year-on-year.
Peruvian iron ore export volumes in June totaled 1 million mt, down from 1.1 million mt in June 2017, and from 1.4 million mt in May this year. Peruvian iron ore export prices reached a peak of $37.7/mt in February this year and then declined to $31.9/mt in March and $26.4/mt in April, the lowest reported so far in the year.
