Passenger vehicle sales in China up 5.8% in 2024

In December last year, production and sales of passenger vehicles in China totaled 3.006 million units and 3.12 million units, up 10.8 percent and 11.7 percent year on year, respectively, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).

In 2024 overall, production and sales of passenger vehicles in China amounted to 27.477 million units and 27.563 million units, up 5.2 percent and 5.8 percent year on year.

In December last year, production and sales of commercial vehicles amounted to 361,000 units and 369,000 units, decreasing by 1.5 percent and increasing by 1.2 percent year on year, respectively.

In 2024 overall, production and sales of commercial vehicles in China amounted to 3.805 million units and 3.873 million units, down 5.8 percent and 3.9 percent year on year, respectively.
