Sichuan Province-based Chinese steel producer Panzhihua New Steel and Vanadium Company Ltd has recently stopped its No.1 and No.2 sintering machines and started to dismantle them.

Installed in the 1970s, the disadvantages of the No. 1 and No. 2 sintering machines included small sintering area, inadequate conditions as regards environmental protection, and high energy consumption. After dismantling the old sintering machines, the steelmaker plans to build a new, advanced and high-tech 360 m2 sintering machine in the same place, with the aim of boosting production capacity and promoting structual adjustment.
