Pangang Group’s Xichang New Steel & Vanadium commissions BF No. 1

Sichuan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Pangang Group has announced that its subsidiary Xichang New Steel and Vanadium Co. has commissioned its blast furnace No. 1.

 According to Pangang, the 1,750 cubic meter capacity blast furnace can meet world-class technological requirements for smelting of vanadium-titanium magnetite ore with a high titanium content. China Metallurgical Group Corporation's (MCC) subsidiaries Chongqing-based CISDI Group Co. and Sichuan-based China 19th Metallurgical Group Corporation were in charge of construction work for the blast furnace project.

Meanwhile, Pangang Group has also announced that it has successfully produced two new hot dip galvanized (HDG) products, namely, 0.5 mm x 1,000 mm with a coating film of 185 g/m2, and also 0.5 mm x 1,000 mm. The HDG products in question will be mainly used in the manufacture of refrigerators and televisions.
