Pakistan’s scrap imports up 20.6 percent in Oct over Sept

Pakistan's scrap imports amounted to 121,060 mt in October this year, increasing 24.25 percent compared to the same month last year and up 20.6 percent from September this year, according to data released by the Pakistan Federal Bureau of Statistics (PFBS).

Pakistan's scrap imports in July-October period amounted to 514,558 mt, falling 19.28 percent compared to the same period last year.
 
Meanwhile, Pakistan's iron and steel imports in October amounted to 114,218 mt, decreasing by 30.9 percent on year-on-year basis and down 15.23 percent compared to September this year. The country's iron and steel imports in the July-October period of 2011 totaled 502,149 mt, decreasing 3.76 percent compared to the same period of last year.
