Finland-based mining and metal manufacturing equipment provider Outotec has announced that it will design and deliver technology for a new iron ore sintering plant to be built by Indian steelmaker Bhushan Power & Steel Limited (BPSL) in Rengali in the state of Orissa.

The new emission-optimized sintering technology reduces overall emissions and saves energy by post-combusting re-circulated combustibles such as CO, while retaining high-quality sinter properties.

The sintering facility is expected to produce 2.45 million mt of iron ore sinter annually. The project is scheduled to be completed in about 30 months. The contract is worth approximately €20 million.
