Finland-based stainless steel producer Outokumpu has announced that since 2013 it has supplied stainless steel products including rebar, bar, machined components and plasma-cut plate products for Barcelona’s famous La Sagrada Família basilica, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. La Sagrada Família was designed in 1866 by Antoni Gaudí, commissioned in 1882 and is planned to be completed in 2026.

“We selected Outokumpu for its valuable technical assistance and also for the high quality of its products. We expect the construction process of the basilica to continue until 2026 and believe that stainless steel is an ideal material that can meet our requirements,” stated Carles Farràs, representative for the Basilica of La Sagrada Família.
