Dutch-based Oryx Stainless has opened a new recycling site in Bangpakong, Thailand under the Oryx Stainless Thailand Co Ltd. umbrella. This is the company’s second recycling location in Thailand. The first location reportedly “ran out of capacity.”

South Korea’s POSCO, one of the largest stainless-steel producers in Asia and worldwide, is a strategic business partner in the region. Yoong Sung Won, VP and raw material purchasing team leader at POSCO participated in the official inauguration of the new plant. An Oryx Stainless executive stated that the company has plans to open “a new facility with the newly-built Thai operation as the blueprint for further expansion in Asia.” Malaysia and other countries are being assessed for new locations.
