Orders in Turkish metals manufacture returns to pre-crisis levels

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), in March this year monthly industrial new orders for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey improved by 27 percent year on year and registered a rise of 15 percent over the previous month. In March, the monthly industrial new order index for Turkey's manufacture of basic metals reached its highest monthly level since August 2008, and even surpassed the levels achieved before the peak of the boom in the summer of 2008.

In March, the monthly turnover of the manufacture of basic metals increased by 15 percent over February and was up 30 percent year on year. The monthly turnover of Turkey's manufacture of basic metals also returned to pre-crisis levels, reaching its highest level since July 2008.
