Orders in Turkish metals manufacture remain at high levels

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK), in April this year monthly industrial new orders for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey improved by 33 percent year on year and registered a rise of 1.26 percent over the previous month. The monthly industrial new order index for Turkey's manufacture of basic metals maintained its high monthly levels in April after it surpassed in March the levels achieved during the peak boom period in the summer of 2008.


In April, the monthly turnover of the manufacture of basic metals decreased by 12.95 percent over March and was up 40.90 percent year on year. In April, the monthly turnover of Turkey's manufacture of basic metals reached its highest levels since July 2008 after it returned to pre-crisis levels in March this year.
