According to the local media reports, Vyksa Steel Works (Vyksa), a subsidiary of the Russian steel and pipe producer United Metallurgical Company (OMK), has expressed support for the imposition of antidumping duties on imports of several types of pipes from Ukraine and is currently preparing the relevant documents for the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In 2009, Vyksa, together with other domestic pipe producers such as TMK and ChTPZ, had applied to the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade for the extension of the eight percent import duty on large diameter pipes, following which the Russian government prolonged the duty by one year, i.e., for the year 2010.
