The annual inflation rate of the 34 Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) member countries rose to 2.5 percent in April this year, compared to 2.3 percent in March, according to the latest figures.
Excluding food and energy, annual inflation increased to 2.2 percent in April, compared to 2.1 percent in the month before.
Compared with March, annual inflation in April increased to 2.0 percent in Germany from 1.3 percent and increased to 2.0 percent in Canada and the US from 1.9 percent. In April as compared with March, annual inflation moved up to 0.9 percent in Japan from 0.5 percent, to 1.3 percent from 1.1 percent in France, to 2.0 percent in the UK from 1.8 percent and to 1.1 percent from 1.0 percent in Italy.
