Nucor-Yamato announces beams surcharge increase

Leading wide-flange beam producer Nucor-Yamato Steel Co., recently announced that they are raising their raw materials surcharge. The new surcharge will be $5.65 cwt. ($113 per net ton, $124.56 per metric ton) on October 1. Nucor is not lowering their base price; therefore the effective price increase to customers will be $2 cwt. ($40/nt, $44.09/mt). The current raw material surcharge is $3.65 cwt. ($73/nt, $80.47/mt).
