Nucor orders a rod mill upgrade

Morgan Construction Co. has signed a contract with Nucor Corp. that outlines plans for an upgrade of the steel company’s single-strand rod outlet at the Norfolk, NE, minimill. Neil Gow, Morgan’s sales manager, stated, “The upgrade includes a new laying head, cooling conveyor modifications, complete new reform tub assembly and coil handling system modifications.” These equipment updates are scheduled to begin in November 2006.
