Nucor announces October 2005 raw materials surcharge

Nucor has announced their October raw materials surcharge on all sheet products. The company says the new surcharge will be $5.50 cwt. ($110/net ton, $121.25/metric ton) for all orders placed with an expected delivery date between October 8 and October 29. The new raw materials surcharge is a $2.27 cwt. ($50/nt, $55.12/mt) effective price increase to customers. Now that the final surcharge has been determined, Nucor will reopen its October order books for its remaining rolling capacity.
