NLMK orders new pre-painting line from Sundwig

The Russian steel producer Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) has announced the conclusion of a supply agreement with German company Sundwig for the delivery of a third pre-painting line to be installed at the company's main production site in Lipetsk.

The new line worth €33 million ($44.8 million) is to have an annual production capacity of 200,000 metric tons.

The equipment is scheduled to be delivered within 14 months, while the installation of the line is expected to be completed in 2009.

In addition, the company has also ordered a new fourth hot-dip galvanizing line with an annual capacity of 300,000 metric tons.

The commissioning of production operations at these two lines will allow NLMK to raise its HDG production capacity to 1.1 million metric tons, including 595,000 metric tons of pre-painted steel.
