Zhejiang Province-based Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel has significantly cut its stainless steel cold rolled prices for January 2008.
The price for the 304 and 321 series has dropped by RMB 2,500/mt ($342/mt) compared with the December level. Thus, SUS 304/2B 2.0 mm coil is now sold at RMB 31,900/mt ($4,370/mt), while SUS 321/2B 2.0 mm coil costs RMB 42,000/mt ($5,753/mt).
The price of the 316L series has gone down by RMB 3,000/mt ($411/mt). As a result, the price of ASTM 316L/2B 2.0 mm coil is RMB 59,800/mt ($8,192/mt).
The price of the 430 series has increased RMB 100/mt ($14/mt), and so 430/2B 2.0 mm coil now costs RMB 13,300/mt ($1,822/mt).
The above prices include 17 percent VAT and take effect as of Jan 1, 2007.
Compared with current market prices, the producer's new price for 304/2B 2.0 mm coil is still RMB 400/mt ($55/mt) higher, while that of 430/2B 2.0 mm coil is higher by RMB 1,900/mt ($260/mt).
