Gulf Steel Rerolling is starting up a new mill in Askar, Bahrain with an aim to produce reinforcing bars of 12-32 mm diameters. This new mill with an intended annual capacity of 75'000 mts is a second hand mill originally from UK and operated in Pakistan prior to being handed over to Gulf Steel. Production at the mill is expected to start by December 2003 and reach 40'000 mts during 2004.
