As reported by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), the total price-adjusted value of orders received by building construction and civil and underground engineering enterprises in Germany increased by 0.7 percent in September this year from the same month of the previous year.
In September, building construction demand increased by 4.4 percent, while demand in civil and underground engineering was down by 2.9 percent, both on year-on-year basis. The total turnover in building construction amounted in September 2011 to around €8.9 billion, increasing by around 3.4 percent compared to September 2010.
Meanwhile, in the first nine months of 2011 the total price-adjusted value of orders in the construction industry increased by four percent over the corresponding period last year. During the January-September period of 2011, the total turnover of the German construction industry amounted to approximately €64 billion, with an increase of 10.7 percent over the first nine months of 2010.
