New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 61 percent in Jan-July

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 124,363 units, increasing by 32 percent month on month and up 67.9 percent year on year. In June, new motor vehicle registrations had decreased by 17.5 percent compared to the previous month.
 
New passenger car registrations in July totaled 60,302 units, increasing by 38.8 percent as compared to the previous month and up 69.4 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 48.5 percent of total registrations. Small truck registrations in July, meanwhile, increased by 57.6 percent month on month and were up 60.4 percent year on year, amounting to 25,975 units. Small truck registrations constituted 20.9 percent of total registrations.
 
In the January-July period of this year, new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey amounted to 758,123 units with a 60.8 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
