New motor vehicle registrations in Turkey up 43.7% in Jan from Dec

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 10.49 percent year on year to 137,334 units and rose by 43.69 percent on month-on-month basis. In the whole of 2014, new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey totaled 1,042,328 units.
 
New passenger car registrations in January this year totaled 88,533 units, increasing by 51.33 percent as compared to December 2014 and up 8.66 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 64.5percent of total new motor vehicle registrations in the given month.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in January increased by 26.35 percent month on month and were up 125.67 percent year on year, amounting to  5,371 units. Small truck registrations constituted 20.8 percent of total new registrations in January this year.
