According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year new motor vehicle registrations in
Turkey amounted to 89,728 units, decreasing by 7.3 percent month on month and up 11.34 percent year on year. In August, new motor vehicle registrations had decreased by 22.1 percent compared to the previous month.
New passenger car registrations in September totaled 38,551 units, decreasing by 11.6 percent as compared to the previous month and down 1.1 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 43 percent of total registrations. Small truck registrations in September, meanwhile, decreased by 8.6 percent month on month and were down 6.5 percent year on year, amounting to 16,573 units. Small truck registrations constituted 18.5 percent of total registrations.
In the January-September period of this year, new motor vehicle registrations in
Turkey amounted to 944,686 units, with a 42.9 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
