New construction orders in Britain down 0.4 percent in Q2 from Q1

In July this year, the output volume of Great Britain's construction industry fell by 0.7 percent year on year and decreased by one percent compared to June, according to a report released by the UK-based Office for National Statistics (ONS). In the given month, new works in the British construction industry increased by one percent year on year and decreased by 1.5 percent month on month, while repair and maintenance work fell by 3.4 percent compared to the same month of 2014. 

On the other hand, in the second quarter this year Great Britain's new orders for construction decreased by 0.4 percent compared to the previous quarter. In the second quarter, orders for public new housing decreased by 10.7 percent, while orders for infrastructure increased by 23.8 percent, both compared to the previous quarter.
